And what I notice is, I have the thing/am doing the thing and then the goal posts shift - I focus on something else I need to have or do. Yes, that’s exactly it! For me, for example, I’ve been coping with chronic fatigue, and it’s so easy to see where I want to be (fully recovered with lots of energy), instead of seeing that where I am now would have seemed like paradise a few years ago. I’m so glad you find that reframe helpful too. I find it so insightful: just having a purpose helps to enjoy the present. It’s not about using the present at any cost to reach a certain goal. But it’s not either or, we need both the goal and the mindfulness 🦋
